CERTAINTY research recognised on global stage

David Fandrei, an MD student from the Department of Hematology at the University of Leipzig, has been honoured with the Young Investigator Award at this year's International Myeloma Society 21st meeting in Rio de Janeiro. His award-winning research focuses on single-cell multi-omics studies of multiple myeloma patients treated with BCMA CAR-T cell therapies.

Mentored by Maximilian Merz and in collaboration with Michael Rade, Marcus Kreuz, and the bioinformatics team led by Kristin Reiche at the Fraunhofer IZI, Fandrei’s work highlights the potential of personalised medicine in oncology. The research is part of the CERTAINTY EU consortium's efforts, supported by the International Myeloma Society and the Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation.
