A seamless transition of expertise ensures continued progress in stakeholder engagement and socio-economic research
We are pleased to announce the addition of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden–Rossendorf e.V. (HZDR) as an official partner in CERTAINTY. This development follows the successful completion of an amendment process requested by the consortium and coordinated by the Project Management Office (PMO).
A transition to safeguard continuity
On 31st March 2025, the Fraunhofer-Zentrum für Internationales Management und Wissensökonomie (IMW), a Fraunhofer institute and previously part of Partner 1, ceased operations. In anticipation of this closure, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden–Rossendorf (HZDR) expressed strong interest in continuing the research efforts, particularly those led by the “Digital Health” group formerly based at Fraunhofer IMW. This group has been actively contributing to Work Package 6 within the CERTAINTY project.
As of 1st April 2025, the transition of the “Digital Health” group to HZDR has taken effect. With this change, the scientific competencies required for the continuation of activities under Work Package 6 have been transferred from Fraunhofer to HZDR. This ensures a seamless handover of responsibilities and safeguards the project’s continuity and scientific integrity.
Consortium amendment approved
To formalise this transition, the PMO initiated an amendment procedure through the EU Funding and Tenders Portal. The aim was to recognise HZDR as a new beneficiary and enable the uninterrupted continuation of critical tasks. We are delighted to confirm that this amendment has now been approved, and HZDR is officially a member of the CERTAINTY consortium.
About HZDR and their role in CERTAINTY
HZDR is a non-profit research organisation and a member of the German ‘Helmholtz Association’ funded by German Federal and Saxonian Authorities. It conducts cutting-edge research with a long-term focus in the fields of energy, health, and matter. The scientists from HZDR department „Human and Technology“ are experts in socio-economics. The team builds on its expertise in the areas of market and environment analysis, as well as needs, requirements, and acceptance analysis. A decisive contribution to the project is stakeholder management, which is a core competence of the team involved and ensures that the interests and requirements of all those involved can be incorporated into the progress of the project. The opinions of the users will continue to be incorporated as the project progresses. This will take place as part of the usability evaluation, which is also being managed by HZDR.
