Scientific Advisory Board highlights clinical integration, clear communication of AI results, and broader impact as key next steps

On 31 March 2026, the CERTAINTY project held its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) meeting to review progress and gather strategic guidance for the final phase of Reporting Period 2.

The Board acknowledged the consortium’s strong achievements across data management, AI modelling, and virtual twin development, including access to large clinical datasets and the advancement of federated learning approaches.

Discussions focused on improving the visualisation and communication of AI model outputs, particularly for clinical use, and ensuring transparency to support trust among clinicians. The SAB also emphasised the importance of aligning project outcomes with real-world clinical needs and strengthening user engagement.

Looking ahead, the Board encouraged the consortium to prioritise clinical use cases, enhance impact and sustainability, and explore applications beyond oncology, leveraging the platform’s modular design.

The meeting concluded with clear recommendations to support CERTAINTY’s continued progress towards delivering a meaningful, clinically relevant virtual twin solution.
